Syracuse’s investment in the Center for the Creator Economy extends well beyond a single building — it draws on a campus already built to support creators, storytellers, and entrepreneurs across every discipline. Students working with the Center have access to a growing footprint of facilities designed for content production, entrepreneurship, and hands-on creative work, spanning the Center’s own home at Newhouse and resources across Whitman, VPA, Falk, Athletics, the Libraries, and beyond.
The Center for the Creator Economy — Newhouse 3, Room 254
The Center’s physical home gives students dedicated space for collaboration and CCE-specific programming, with new podcast production booths opening to give every student hands-on access to professional recording facilities.
Newhouse Startup Garage
Located in Room 220 of Newhouse 1, the Startup Garage is a co-working space where student media entrepreneurs test ideas, launch startups, and connect with digital media professionals, run under the Center for Digital Media Entrepreneurship. It gives students access to Newhouse facilities including Dick Clark Studios, the Alan Gerry Center for Media Innovation, and the W2O Emerging Insights Lab.
Gaming and Esports Center
The 5,800-square-foot Gaming and Esports Center inside the Schine Student Center features an elevated competitive stage with live-streaming camera setups, 24 high-end gaming PCs, console and VR/AR gaming, and racing simulators, including a production area where students get hands-on experience in live broadcasting. Opened in February 2026, the newer Marley Education Center facility serves as the program’s dedicated academic and competitive venue — a state-of-the-art space combining elite gameplay with industry-level production capabilities, including a full auditorium and production control room — and is the primary venue for varsity matches, supporting Syracuse’s esports communications and management degree, offered jointly by Newhouse and Falk College.
Blackstone LaunchPad — Bird Library
Syracuse’s campus-wide entrepreneurship and innovation hub, located just steps from the Whitman School in Bird Library. LaunchPad connects student entrepreneurs, inventors, and creators across every school and college with ideation workshops, mentor meetings, and pitch competitions like Ideas Fest and the Panasci Business Plan Competition — a natural extension of the Center’s own pitch competition model.
Couri Hatchery Student Business Incubator
Whitman’s student business incubator, supporting startups with hands-on venture-building resources and drop-in advising, alongside programming like the Orange Tank pitch competition.
VPA Film and Media Arts Facilities
Housed in the Shaffer Art Building, VPA’s production facilities include a green screen studio, two lighting studios, an animation studio with 2D, 3D, and stop-motion capability, a post-production suite with a finishing room and editing lab, a cinematography stage, and color grading facilities — alongside student access to Light Work, a world-renowned photography center based on campus.
Falk College Podcast Studio & Sport Technology Lab
Falk College’s podcast studio features modern audio recording, video, and streaming capabilities and is home to programming like the NIL Clubhouse Podcast. The college’s Sport Technology Lab gives students hands-on training in graphic design, video production, photography, and social and website design using industry-standard tools like Adobe Creative Suite and Daktronics.
Syracuse Athletics Creative Content Operation
Syracuse Athletics runs its own in-house creative content team, producing social media, video, and in-game content for Cuse.com and the University’s athletic programs — including student interns working alongside the Assistant Athletics Director for Creative Services, offering direct, professional-level experience in sports content production tied to the Center’s NIL Management & Integration pathway.
