As an R1 research institution, Syracuse brings faculty and researchers prepared to deliver rigorous, independent scholarship that meets the highest academic standards while serving an industry that has never had a research partner like this before. That dual commitment informs two connected bodies of work.
Each year, the Center produces its own original research — studies built with full academic rigor, workshopped among peers at national conferences, and published in peer-reviewed journals — contributing new scholarship to the field. Alongside that annual research, the Center publishes regular industry updates: timely, topical work addressing the current issues and challenges facing the creator economy, built to be useful to industry and academia alike.
The creator economy is ready for research built with academic rigor from the ground up — comprehensive datasets, real pricing benchmarks, and ROI standards the industry can trust. The Center’s research program accomplishes this through a range of original work, including:
Commissioned Research — Original studies conducted on behalf of organizations across the industry (see Commissioned Research for details)
High-Frequency Studies — Timely briefs examined through the lens of the creator, the marketer, and the consumer
Long-Form Investigations — In-depth research designed to set the baseline knowledge for the field, some tracked continuously over time

Rankings and Recognition
The Center is building the industry’s first framework for evaluating and honoring the platforms, companies, and leaders shaping the creator economy.

Commissioned Research
Organizations across the creator economy can commission the Center’s researchers to answer questions specific to their business, backed by the same independence and academic rigor that defines all of the Center’s work.
